HQPlayer with Orbi Mesh

Hi. I have just moved to Orbi 770 mesh. My Mac Mini M1 is running HQplayer, with Roon on QNAP NAS. Both are wired to an Orbi satellite, whereas my Holo Red (which is connected to a DAC200) is wired to the Orbi master. I was previously using Linksys Velop Wifi5, which worked fine in this configuration. With Orbi, my HQplayer desktop can no longer see the Holo Red. I have tried using Holo Red Software, Ropiee and the HQplayer NAA image on my Holo Red and the issue persists. I have also tried disconnecting the ethernet connection at the Mac Mini end to use pure Wifi and that doesn’t work. However, when I hard wire the Mac Mini to the Holo Red on the Orbi satellite is does work. Any ideas what is going on?

I assume it is not establishing any NAT between the two, so both should share the same IP address space? Sounds like the multicast discovery is not getting through. So please check any multicast related settings. If there’s a setting for IGMP Snooping, try with it enabled/disabled.

When IGMP is being used, both the NAA and HQPlayer machine should be connected to the network at the time when NAA and HQPlayer software is being started. So for Holo Red that means it must be connected to the network at the time it is being booted up. And your Mac Mini needs to be connected to the network at the time HQPlayer is being started up. If any cables are being disconnected/reconnected after this point, the IGMP based subscription information is likely getting lost.

I have seen similar issues with wireless access points as well, at the moment having a battle with such on Zyxel wireless AP’s, since none of the connected UPnP control points can discover any devices…

Did as you suggested and rebooted the Holo Red and opened/closed HQplayer on the Mac to resolve the IGMP issue and it now works!!! Thank you so much for your very quick response and resolution. It is very much appreciated!!
