Core operates on a dedicated Dell Optiplex 790 (Intel i5, 2.5GHz, 8GB RAM) running Windows 10 Pro, running whatever version of Roon Server is current as of 12/12/2022. To access the Roon Core, I’m using iPhone, iPad, and a Mac, each with the latest software updates.
Networking Gear & Setup Details
ISP connection from the router goes to an Apple Airport, then into a hub. The Roon Core server, given a dedicated IP address, maintains a wired connection to that hub, as does the audio equipment. No VPN.
Connected Audio Devices
The audio equipment is a Cambridge Audio Edge NQ.
Number of Tracks in Library

Description of Issue
I cannot access Roon from any of the devices on the same network as the Core Server. The only version that actually loads and is usable is an instance running on the server itself, otherwise what I see is the “loading” page, Roon’s version of the spinning beachball.
Nonsense. It worked fine until the 2.0 upgrade. And besides, the Airport device is connected via Ethernet to the network, the Roon server, and the audio equipment. The only wireless part of the interaction is the Ipad to the server, and remote desktop access works fine that way.
@Vince, a fellow user here, but a few questions that may help diagnose what you are experiencing. Have you checked that your firewall has an exception for Roon on your AirPort? I don’t use this router, but it may help to confirm that the AirPort’s firewall is not blocking Roon traffic. Can you also check the Windows firewall on your Dell Core to ensure exceptions are made to allow roon.exe and raatserver.exe?
Does your Roon Core work when you use it on the Dell PC directly? And to confirm, you cannot access the Core with your or your iOS devices acting as Remotes connecting wirelessly, or can the Mac Remote connect wirelessly to the Core (it’s not clear)?
I’ve not set either of these, so the ports should be opened.
The only Roon client that works is what’s loaded on the Dell directly. No other clients load the application, although it does see them. Have a look at the screen shots provided.
Okay, I’ve resolved this by obliterating every instance of Roon and Roon Server from the Dell host machine, including uninstalling the apps and the databases. Then I deleted the six instances, in Windows firewall, of raatserver.exe, two instances of roon.exe, and two roonappliance.exe. I reinstalled Roon Server then. Now it’s working. Not so pleased about having to lose my listening history to get here, however.
