iFi Zen Dac - Blue Light?

Description Of Issue

Good morning,

I took my new DAC a few days ago, it’s from iFi and more specifically it’s the ifi zen dac (see above the link).

I wanted to know why when I put the music to sleep the LED remains yellow instead of blue, I give you a small example here:

Dac just connected, blue led:

Dac connected and a song is playing, yellow led

Dac in stop, nothing is playing , LED is always yellow

yes, directly connected to the usb3 port in the back

Hello @fatez,

We do not have the iFi Zen DAC in house yet for the Roon Tested program. Therefore, we cannot speculate why the iFi Zen DAC LED color changes in different scenarios. I recommend you reach out to the support team at iFi with your question.

Did you add in the Linux pack?
Looking at the manual the default light should be green for red book, blue lights are DSD?

form the site :

Apple macOS and Linux support USB audio class 2 natively, hence no driver is needed .

and i installed the latest 5.3c firmware

with the 5.3c firmware the behavior must be this:

• just turned on or in stand-by: blue
• music (all except mqa): yellow
• MQA: magenta.

I understand that you do not have the product at home and cannot test, I will ask in the official forum.

I think you already know whats up but just in case:
Green for PCM 44-96
Magenta for MQA
Yellow for PCM 176-384
Cyan for DSD 64/128
Blue for DSD 256
