Can't connect to Roon Server with IPAD Pro 2020 or IPAD pro 2022?

Describe your network setup

I can connect with a Samsung S3 tablet under Android, but with an IPAD it's impossible

Have you looked at Settings/Audio to check if the devices (iPads) present and enabled? This is unlikely to be the source of your problem but worth checking…

Hi @Jean-Luc_Descout1 ,

Since the issue only happens on iPad, can you check to see if your iOS settings → Roon → Local Network Access is toggled to Yes? Are the iPad and the working Android connected to the same Access Point/Router?

Hello

after uninstallation of the appication Roon and reinstallation + reinstallation of the whole chain linux Gentooplayer the problem came from the IPAD, tell you which one I do not know , I went on an IAPD Pro 11 inches of 2022 with the latest version IOS and Wifi 6 E, Roon Server works well.

Have a good holiday season

Can't connect to Roon Server with IPAD Pro 2020 or IPAD pro 2022?

Describe your network setup

I can connect with a Samsung S3 tablet under Android, but with an IPAD it's impossible

I have a server running AMD Ryzen 9700 X where Gentooplayer and Roon Server/HQPe are installed

it is connected via Ethernet to a latest generation BBox router

the order is made from a Samsung S3 tablet which uses the Wifi network

when I try to connect via Wifi with an IPAD Pro from 2020 or an Ipad Pro 2022 and there, it is impossible to connect
I plan to use the iPad to control it.
if you have any thoughts

Hey @Jean-Luc_Descout1,

Sorry to hear your issues persist!

If it is already enabled, toggle it off and on again. Then reboot your iPad, and see if the same issue persists.

Thank you!

Hello

yes I always encounter the same problem with Roon application every time I leave it and I enter it whether on

  • Ipad 11 Pro 2022
  • 2020 Ipad 12.9 Pro
  • Iphone 13 Pro max

it is not browser related either on Safari or Chrome idem, in the Roon app in settings everything is OK
Roon server access process
Thank you for your reply

Hi @Jean-Luc_Descout1,
Can you confirm whether you tried toggling Roon’s local network access off and then on again? This is an important step as other user’s have found that even if local network access was shown as on it actually was disactivated.

This setting is in your MacOS settings not Roon settings. It will be under System settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network.Look for the Roon entry there and if it is on toggle it off and then on again. If it is off toggle it on.

Please let us know if this resolves your issue!

Hello

in the privacy settings, the roon application is enabled
when I deactivate and reactivate it, it finds the Ronn server but asks for the username and password every time.
this isn’t due to the latest IOS update???

Hi @Jean-Luc_Descout1,
I’m glad it’s able to find the Roon server now. Which username and password is it is asking for Roon or something else?

!
Hello

thank you for your help :grinning:
