Hello, I am currently looking at streamer options under 1k for use with a Chord Quest dac and analogue amplifier. I really like the specs of the Innuos Pulse mini and see that it is not Roon Tested or Roon ready. I am interested in using this only as an endpoint and transport to the DAC. I already have Roon core installed on a NUS using ROCK. My question is: Will the Pulse mini work as an endpoint with Roon? Has anyone tried one with Roon? Many thanks in advance, Alex
For an out-of-the-box solution, the WiiM Pro is all you need if you want to use coaxial or optical. At the other end of the price spectrum, but with your budget, is the Eversolo DMP-A6 (coaxial, optical and USB). Both are Roon Ready devices.
Here’s a comprehensive list of Roon Ready devices. Only Roon Ready streamers will work for you, so the Innuos is off the menu.
Edit: You’ll get more feedback, by posting under #audio-gear-talk rather than #audio-gear-talk:innuos. Please let me know if you would like me to move the thread.
Thank you @Martin_Webster I’ll take a closer look at those two options. Please do move the thread!
I’ve moved the thread.
Incidently, I use an Allo DigiONE with my Chord Electronics 2Qute but prefer coaxial (S/PDIF) over USB.
That looks good, I’d like one with both usb and coaxial. So I have options. The Wimm looks good but I do not think it has a wired LAN Port.
It is a network streamer with Ethernet port.
You may like to check Auralic and Bluesound, too.
The Innuos will work with Roon but only as Squeezebox endpoint and that limits it to 192/24 only and is unofficially supported as it’s using Squeezlite a software emulation of the squeezebox hardware. They really are pushing their own eco system with InnuOS sense. You’re much better getting a fully Roon Ready device that’s been tested and is supported such as Martin has suggested for much less.
ok Thanks I think I might consider looking at the Allo Digione instead as recommended by @Martin_Webster.
You might want to reconsider the Allo products. They appear to be struggling and/or going out of business. Most of their products are out of stock and the current version of the Allo USbridge has an outdated Linux kernel that makes Roon (Ropieee) support difficult.
Is this based on fact, or just an assumption?
