Installing Command Line

I had to chance my computer and installed Roon on the new one (Ubuntu). All is OK; but I’d like to use the command line too. I remember that the previous installation was a pain because the instructions are wrong. Unfortunately, I didn’t make a note of how it worked. Now I get to thze point ehere it says:

In order to configure the Python Roon API we must set the IP address
of the Roon Core. Discovery will be used to determine the Roon Core IP.
When prompted for authorization, go to a Roon Remote window and click
Settings → Extensions → Enable
to authorize discovery

Unfortunately, I can’t do this because nothing of the sort is displayed in the relevantz place in Roon.
I believe that this message displayed a little lazter gives an hint:
»Verify the ‘server’ and ‘user’ settings in the roon script are correct«
Unfortunately, I don’t know which script I shall change where.

Can anybody help me to figure out how to install the CommandLine?

I can’t help but I have a similar problem to investigate.
I am developing in delphi under windows a small program to test RoonAPI.

This program works fine on my development PC but on another PC I have this error during the discovery phase (sending a UDP message):
TUDPBlockSocket.LastError=[10060],TUDPBlockSocket.LastErrorDesc=[Connection timed out]
Sorry, for this gibberish :slight_smile:
I will have to investigate this problem but I think the firewall configuration must be important.

Edit:
Maybe this can work:
try to add in the file /usr/local/Roon/etc/roon_api.ini

[DEFAULT]
RoonCoreIP = <server>
RoonCorePort = <port>

If the discovery is not done every time, maybe this allows to bypass it.
