I am repeatedly loosing contact with my Roon server, I'm running Roon Optimized Core Kit on Linux 6.8.0-generic/192.168.1.218, Version 2.55 (build 1559) production.
Describe your network setup
It's hooked upp to 600Mbit/s fiber network Through a Telia Fast 5370e router, a D-Link DGS-110-08Vs and running a Rackserveur CALD-164302 French server. Hardwired to streaming device and client on 5G apple wifi.
Thanks for reaching out. Can you please confirm the model/manufacturer of the hardware that the ROCK is running on, is it one of the models listed on our ROCK guide?
When you lose contact, is there anything that you are doing right before this happens? I’ve also gone ahead and activated diagnostics for your ROCK, and it should deliver a log set next time it is online. I see that it is currently offline, please let us know here next time you use this device so that we can check on the error logs.
Before I answer your question I have a bit of news:
I have turned my server over to my computer guy who tested it on his network along with my MacBook Pro core. And it’s working beautifully there.. I did even access arc from my phone on his network in Stockholm.
So, tomorrow I will have to trudge through my network here in my house to see what’s wrong. I am running all sorts of apple tv:s and other computers and devices such as large printers wired through the same switches, there’s four in the house so great fun ahead!
No, nothing special is going on when I loose connection BUT I could see that my Linn app, I run a Linn Klimax DS streamer, had also lost connection when roon core was gone.
When I called my computer guy to see if the server was running, which it was, my laptop that I also had handed over did stop the music playing but that is roon knowing I’m getting a call I guess since I can receive calls on my laptop.
I’ll be reinstalling the server at my house tomorrow and report back but it seems my network is somehow to blame?!
