Internet Radio-Mono et Mono?

Usually I find left channel only sound when listening to
the Roon Radio although I have had two channel a couple
times. Is this just because it is in beta or have I lost an
ear somewhere? @support

That’s not expected all mine are in stereo.

Hello @jeff_kalina,

What is an example of the radio station experiencing this behavior and what endpoint are you using? Is the Radio behavior the same on other endpoints or even on “System Output”? Please let me know when possible.

Thanks,
Noris

Norris,

I listen to 98.7 FM each day. There is not an issue with my equipment. I stream Tidal with no channel
problem.

I do not follow your question on endpoints or Output but my thinking is yes it is the same.

Hello @jeff_kalina,

Can you please provide the link to that stream?

Thanks,
Noris

http://arizonasports.com is the site for 98.7 in Phoenix,AZ

@jeff_kalina - I just tried the TuneIn link and both channels are working fine for me: http://tunein.com/radio/Arizona-Sports-987-s33523/

What is your output device/DAC?

Thanks,
Noris

Interesting. I was having the exact same problem a while ago (Internet Radio only playing on left speaker) and it’s still an issue for me. I’ll follow up over there with some more details.

My equipment is a near new Roon Nucleus out to an Oppo 205 also nearly new.

Both function as they should in other applications. Only the radio is buggie.

It had self corrected for a week or so but now is back to being a lefty.

Which for talk radio is really not an issue.

Just sayin you have “Issues”

Best,

Noris,

I added your address as a new station. Same result. Left only.
My equipment, both 3 months old, Roon Nucleus to Oppo 205.
These pieces both work fine in the applications.

History- Left only. Then Both. Now back to left only.
Not due to misconnections.

Best,

Jeff

Hello @jeff_kalina & @Boris_Pruessmann,

We believe there is something strange regarding the stream format of those radio stations. I have not been able to reproduce the left channel issue but one of my coworkers has been able to, indicating that this issue is OS or DAC specific. I will be sure to keep you posted as new information surfaces after our investigation.

Thanks,
Noris

Hi @jeff_kalina / @Boris_Pruessmann,

We’ve just released Roon 1.7 (Build 500) which includes changes that should improve this behavior. Please give it this a try and let us know how it goes!
