It wouldn’t work as a Roon server without Ethernet, how would you connect to streaming services or streamers?

Watching the unboxing video would give you an overview of the devices inputs and outputs.
@John_Lee2 , yes. I can’t imagine Roon selling a device that runs Roon Server with just WiFi, but it’s wise to check for Ethernet regardless.
@John_Lee2 here’s the video on unboxing.
Thanks for the video.
So many cost effective ways to build a Roon server.
I would have been far more excited seeing an arm based solution.
What would “real audio gear” do with an HDMI port? Some do use I2S output (bad idea) over HDMI connector (also a bad idea) but there is no point to it.
None whatsoever, as long as your Nucleus is working well.
If you want the efficiency and quiet of an ARM-based system, the Mac Mini is ideal. It also comes up very well in measured electrical noise and hash.
Great product. I am as others I am waiting for a European release and prize.
To my knowledge, audio is interleaved with video in an HDMI output. Audio alone can not be transported as the videoblock would be missing. However, low resolution video allows for a more „relaxed“ interleaving potentially giving a better Audiostream. Hence it would be great to hear which video resolution Roon has taken for the „audio only“ HDMI output.
An odd question perhaps, but can the Nucleus One (and Titan?) be mounted vertically? Like on a wall, for instance. Thanks!

Shouldn’t matter. A NUC even comes with bracket to fix to the back of a screen
Why should a computer worry about orientation as long as ang air vents sre clear
Shouldn’t be an issue. Computers have very few moving parts these days. And tiny computers are often designed to be stuck behind a screen.
I should have re-worded my question. I never had a doubt about its orientation. It’s more a question of if comes with the requisite hardware to mount vertically or has the holes to do so.
Based on the unboxing video, I’m inclined to say no. Which makes it a tough sell for me.
Does the 100k track limit apply only to locally stored tracks or does it also apply to locally stored + Tidal/Qobuz favorite tracks? In other words, if I have 60k local tracks and another 60k Tidal favorite tracks, will it work?
Library content applies to both local tracks and tracks that you have added to your library from streaming services. So in your case you have 120k tracks in your library.
As to whether it will work - it will likely play your tracks, but the performance of the UI will probably suffer.
When will it be availible in Europe
Mike
From what you’ve described @TooFrank, it sounds like you’re doing fine and don’t need to upset the audio cart with a new device. I say enjoy what you have currently - it appears to be working perfectly for you.
If I leave it in office room, does it matter if it has fan or not. I am making sure that fan does not cause any issues on quality of audio stream. Thanks.
A fan has zero influence on the sound quality. No idea to be honest what made you believe that.
