Thanks, I don’t use Facebook so I did not see this exchange. Curious though.
I have no idea, do you? Right?
Edit. A lot of possibilities exist, whether they have the capability or not, they need to have the desire to do so.
Yes very weird if they could support more than 100K by just adding more RAM.
Protecting the pricier, bigger brother?
As I mentioned further up, I think people who are in the market for a device in the $600 range aren‘t easily convinced to pay $5000 instead
I’ve seen no details of what components are in this box. There’s every possibility that the RAM is not field replaceable/upgradable. It’s not like every computing device on the market uses DIMM/SODIMM modules.
No. And that is not possible to specify. Too many unknown variables. So, temper your complaints.
Because anybody could create within Roon a DSP amalgam complex enough to bring to a grinding halt any computer hardware, not just Nucleus or Titan hardware. As such, only basic generalities about capabilities and limits apply.
AJ
I for one would like an answer from Roon on why they freely told people which CPUs were in the Nucleus and Nucleus+, but will not share that information on Titan or Nucleus One.
Could it be that they don’t want consumers who could go grab an I7 barebones NUC for 350 bucks to know that to spend another 150 for their plug and play one means they are going to get a Celeron class processor???
If that’s not the case, I challenge Roon to spit it out and tell us what is inside these two units…
Did they? The official specs on the website never stated the information, anyway.
Maybe in time they will tell us on the forum, or someone will open one.
No they did NOT. Hence my post…
I dare them to state which processor is in both these new units…
please ship me mine. please?
They did not what?
I very much doubt it, the rnd involved would be substantial, I cant see them breaking even with Roons level of businees, unless of course Roon goes exclusive to these devices to reduce support overheads,
Suedklez,
Your response to my post began with: “DID THEY?”
I assume that to mean, “Did they release the specs on the CPU”…
Obviously, you meant something else, otherwise, you wouldn’t be asking me “They did not what?”
Ah You had said that Roon had “freely told people which CPUs were in the Nucleus and Nucleus+“ and „did they“ was meant as a response to that.
I know that everybody knew the CPUs but the official specs never stated them. Of course once hardware is in users hands it‘s impossible to keep it a secret.
Maybe a silly question: 1.5 years ago, I finally bought a Nucleus - works absolutely fine with a 2TB SSD. I still have a long way to go to get to the 10.000 albums. So would there be any reason what so ever, to wish to invest in a One (or even the Titan)? This should then be only because off the new updated hardware, but it would make a real difference?
If your Nucleus is performing, then don’t listen to the devil on your left shoulder whispering: “upgrade! upgrade!” but listen to the angel on your right whispering: “enjoy the music”…
Is there an ethernet connection?
Yes, it’s a Roon server
Sorry, the feature list showed every interface except Ethernet. I don’t like to assume.
