Introducing OPRA, a powerful new headphone toolkit for Roon and ARC šŸŽ§

Which remote are you using?

If you’re using a phone, android or IOS, there isn’t enough room on the screen to support the setup options.

I see the setup options on windows and Ipad remotes with more screen space.

On my android phone I only see the options to enable/disable.

Damn! This is great.

Using Android Roon ARC → Astell Kern dac → ety 4sr. I’ve been trying to tame this set up for a while, I hate Bluetooth and like the way the ety isolated sound works for the NYC subway. Finally, it sounds fantastic again.

The profiles on file are really great. Really enjoying the one by oratory1990.

Thanks Roon! Just made my holiday weekend.

Thanks for the help!

I’m using my iPhone. All works on iPhone with Arc NP, so not sure why it can’t be done on roon?

So then, there’s no way for me to select headphone pre-sets if I’ve plugged my headphones into an iPhone and using my roon local network?? Or does that mean, the presets wouldn’t have any effect? Or all the above?

Thank you.

Same for me - and there’s ample room if they made Roon rotate to landscape in iOS.

The blog article clearly shows Roon with the arrows on a phone screen.

I refuse to buy the least useful item ever made by Apple - the iPad - just to access Roon because they don’t seem to want to make use of iOS properly.

Roon is a bit disappointing recently; I can’t use ARC because I have to use Starlink if I want the internet where I live and I can’t use Muse because I have an iPhone.

This works with Tailscale.

You can also use a cheap tablet like the Amazon Fire

If you’ve only got access to a phone for Roon then you’re missing out on other features as well.

Which article are you looking at? I can see a tablet screen on the official Roon release stuff. If they have shown a phone screen with the arrows then it’s worth following up. Please can you post a link. Thanks.

Tailscale requires IT capability far beyond mine to implement. If it’s not plug and play it’s not happening.

Under the sub heading

ā€œOPRA provides premium Head-Fi for allā€

Which appears to be missing ā€œunless they use an iPhoneā€!

Actually I did find it after posting. You’re quite correct that it does show a phone screen with functionality not available on such a screen. I don’t think that’s on.

EDIT: The photo of the phone is ARC and so it is correct.

What Roon server are you using? On a Mac, you install the Tailscale app on the Mac and on the iPhone. That’s about it.

For many/most users, getting ARC to run with Tailscale is much easier than the port forwarding method.

I’m using Roon Nucleus.

Nucleus now supports Tailscale directly. You just configure your account in the web page.

I see. Yeah, that would require reinstalling Roon OS right now. It’s not terribly hard and other users would help, but I get it if you don’t want to. Roon Labs seems to be working on a solution for this, so fingers crossed.

Web page for?

Your Nucleus. You have to set up a Tailscale account first on their website though then link it to your Nucleus. Then add app to phone and link that job done.

@Marcus_Adams1 At this time, only for Nucleus One and Titan.

I didn’t know my Nucleus had a web page!

Ah. Mine is the smaller version of the OG version.

It would be good to have that built in. Hopefully they’ll get there because neither the One nor the Titan are available in New Zealand.
