I’m not Harry - but I used an 8gb card and it’s working. I don’t know if the 64gb is too big and not supported perhaps. Harry will confirm.
Hi Simon,
Sorry to hear that. We had this once before with someone with a 32GB card. I’ve ordered one to test with, as I’m getting the idea that for some reason RoPieee has a problem with these ‘big’ cards.
If you’ve got something smaller lying around you probably have success.
Regards,
One observation was I was able to use my Uptone LPS-1 (up to 1.1amps) to power Picoreplayer ( the Pi3 and the 7" touchscreen and HiFiBerry DAC+ Pro all powered with 1.1amps total) but 1.1amps plays funny with Ropieee with Touchscreen (no HAT). It continuously reboots. But with the iFi 5V iPower (2.5amps) no such issues.
No big deal - I had an iFi iPower 5V around to test.
How do you stand the screen up? The 10.1" display has stands that clip on the back but not so the 7" it seems.
Switching cards worked. Had to use the one I was using for PiCore Player so no turning back now.
I use the official RPi stand from RS. Had to modify it a bit at the back to fit in the HifiBerry but works well. Also use an angled phono plug for the spdif coax so the cable does not sit above the screen.
Hi Tony, I use the Pimoroni stand. Works well - I’ve got a few of them around the house/
Working really well Harry. If i can request a feature to be added it would be a brightness control as the displays default is way too bright. So some way to be able to reduce this would be great as well as the things you have already flagged for the track position/running time.
Does that version of the screen allow you to attach a pi with hat ?
Ged
yes it should do - I run mine with an IQAudIO DigiAMP+ HAT
Interesting issue today I was setting up my ROCK and could see the RoPieee build…then my main core I realised couldn’t see it either…somewhere along the updates the Audio USB check box became unticked. This RPi has never had a HAT on it so its always been using 2 USB DAC’s
384K support
Guys, in all this touchscreen stuff I missed reporting that RoPieee supports 384K on those HAT’s that do support that as well (Allo particulary). It has been in the kernel for more than a week (now that’s one advantage of silent updates ;-)), but I needed confirmation first so I poked some guys on a private channel.
So from now one: yes, RoPieee supports 384K.
Hello together,
I just tested the last RoPieee Image with Allo Boss Dac and it supports now flawlessly 384Khz!
Good work
Best regards
René
Harry, I downloaded and installed your beta .img on a 16 GB card with an official 7 inch screen and an IQaudIO DAC+. It all works fine with the time ticking away in the 24 hour format in the upper right corner. I am looking forward to the updates. Thank you for your sorcery. -PB
Another thing to try and fix in the beta Harry. When it’s goes into standby after th10mins and you start music from a remote the display does not reactivate when music starts, you have to touch the screen for it if to display again. Slightly annoying but not a major thing.
Clock is great idea but would be great is it’s viewable across a room - my mrs likes the picoreplayer clock size - especially when you older eyes need to see it
DSD support for a DAC that is in RoPieee but report incorrectly in Roon - not sure what the issue is.
Using the ASIO driver in Win10 the Vinshine R2R via Amanero 384 USB @ DSD256 reports correctly as I recall.
While RoPieee supports Amanero 384 USB now the Vinshine shows as DSD128 only in the Roon Audio Settings
Is this a Roon issue or RoPieee issue?
I thought of something else for touchscreen support. Add a volume slider. My second Pi Unit has a HifiBerry Amp+ so to be able to control it’s volume without the app would be great, even PiCore Player can’t do this.
Is there anyway to get a harmony remote to control roonbridge play/pause/skip by Bluetooth or IR?
