[Investigating] B377 Arc cannot connect after removing all downloads and re-enabling Smart Downloads

I used to allocate 25 GB of space to ARC’s Smart Downloads but wanted to reduce this space to 10 GBs. Unfortunately ARC does not seem to purge downloaded music exceeding the newly allocated space on its own. So I disabled Smart Downloads and re-enabled it.

Right after re-enabling it I noticed that Smart Downloads does not seem to pick-up downloads. I selected a couple of albums for manual download and the manual download then started. But none of the albums did finish its download. After a couple of minutes, ARC notified me that some downloads failed and since then ARC does not see and cannot connect to my Roon core anymore. (please note that all other Roon apps are still able to connect to the core).

Roon ARC setting page in Roon also states that the server is ready and ARC can securely access it.

Roon ARC on my phone now fails to connect to the core even after resetting or reinstalling the app. Also reverting back to the release version does not fix this issue and ARC simply does not find the Roon server anymore.

This probably was affected by the Cloudflare outage earlier today. But one weird behaviour is still present in the current ARC beta release affecting downloads.

When an album is being downloaded by Smart Downloads and I mark that album as „keep in downloads“ before the download is complete, that album download is stopped and never resumed. This halts Smart Downloads also as manual downloads have priority. To fix this I need to browse to the album and cancel the download manually. After then I can try to download it again.
