Describe the issue

None of my iPhone iPads can connect to my Windows 10 server

Describe your network setup

The Modem Router is Telstra 5g. Connections are WiFi. The Network Player will connect and can be contolled by the Server. The very same devices worked at our old home. The Modem/Router is the only difference. The Bitdefender Anti Virus firewall is switched off. Windows Firewall is operating, but the Roon progams are set to pass through. If the Windows Firewall is turned off, the remote devices can connect.

another cheap trick is to uninstall the ios app and reinstall, it also clears a lot of cached memory on the iPad

That’s what I found. I changed it so that both private and public were ticked but to no avail.
I’m about to switch to using the anti-virus firewall (Bitdefender) rather than Windows. I can’t recall why I had it set up that way…

Update: this fixed the problem.

That’s great news, @michael.runge! It sounds like the Windows Firewall was holding onto some old rules or “ghost” settings that were blocking the iOS discovery packets, even with the boxes ticked.

Since everything is up and running now, I’ll go ahead and close this thread. Enjoy the music in your new home!
