What’s happening?

Something else

How can we help?

None of the above

Other options

using my ipad as remote, i used to see notifications for the the track playing but these are no longer appearing. i’ve checked notification settings on the ipad for the roon app and all the settings appear correct. is this a known new problem or does anyone have any suggestions on what might be causing it and how to fix it?

Hi @number6mi,

Are you referring to the notification from the ‘Up next’ track in your queue, or through Roon Radio? Do you have Roon Radio enabled in your queue screen?

I guess I’m talking about up next

I don’t use Roon radio

Hi @number6mi,

The ‘Up Next’ pop up will only occur if you have Roon Radio enabled from your Queue page.

Try this:

  1. Queue up 1 song to play
  2. Enable Roon Radio
  3. Play the track and skip towards the end of your track - you’ll see the pop up.

Here’s a GIF walkthrough:

Hope this helps!

super thanks for taking the time to try to help with this but it clarified that the question was not about Roon Radio but simply about the notification feature on my ipad displaying the track being played as shown on the screenshot.

Coincidentally, the notification feature actually started working for me, possibly because in ipad settings, i changed the banner style from “persistent” to “temporary”. i’m not certain this is why and it still seems to stop occasionally but if i close the roon remote app and reopen it, it seems to resume. My impression is something has changed that this doesn’t work as well as it used to but i can’t be certain.

Ah, thanks for the clarification @number6mi! Glad to hear adjusting your iPad settings helped.

Another option to check would be Roon Settings>Setup>Enable lock screen controls. Note that this is still a beta feature :slightly_smiling_face:
