Describe the issue
My wife’s iPhone will not connect. It worked fine for a long time ,now no connection. Its searching for the roon server ( nucleus). Rebooted Nucleus, wifi and reinstalled app. Gave the app the IP address, still doesn’t recognize the server.
Describe your network setup
We use google pucks for the wifi. My iPad and iPhone work fine. My wife’s iPhone stopped connecting.
Thanks for your report. Can you please confirm the model and iOS version of the affected device? Additionally, to confirm here, your wife’s iPhone is on the same subnet as the Nucleus, is that correct? If you navigate to your iOS Settings → Roon app → Local Network Access, is this turned On?
Noris: iOS version 18.3.2, 15 Pro, by subnet do you mean our WiFi network? Then yes , all devices ( Nucleus, my iPad/ iPhone and hers are on the same network . Local Network Access is turned on.
Thanks. Paul
Thanks for confirming the phone/iOS and local network access settings. I’ve tried to enable diagnostics for the iPhone, can you please try to open the Roon app on the device for at least a few minutes and let us know after you’ve done so? Hopefully the app will be able to deliver a log package for review to our servers.
Just to clarify your previous statement, the iPhone is now able to properly connect to the server without issue? I did see the log file come in, but it is not clear if the issue has been solved. Enabling diagnostics from our end shouldn’t have had any impact on the connectivity, but if the issue re-occurs a reboot of the phone might sort the issue out?
Yes, all is good on our end. In the past, any issues always resolved themselves. I’m not sure why the problem occurred, or how it resolved. I’ll just take the win! Thx
Glad to hear @Paul_Gambon, please reach out if anything else comes up.
I recommend double-checking in the iOS WiFi Settings on the affected iPhone to see if a Fixed or Rotating Private Address is assigned. A Fixed address might retain the server connection better.
