· Everything is up to date but I still can't connect.

Describe the issue

After the latest Roon update the device (a Mac Mini) is working fine. On the contrary all iPhones and iPads, which never gave any trouble playing Roon, can’t find Roon any more. Never experienced this before…

Describe your network setup

Core on Mac Mini, connected to wifi on Ziggo routers(NL). That goes too for both iPhones and iPads

Did you also update your devices in the App Store?

I did fietser, i did. To no result, pity

Hey @Hjcw_Roefs,

Thanks for writing in! It’s good to see you on the community again!

Can you please navigate to macOS System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network , and make sure Roon is allowed? If it is already enabled, toggle it off and on again. Then reboot your Mac, and see if the same issue persists?

I do still see an instance of the legacy version of Roon 1.8 potentially still active on your iPad pro - if you could remove this app and download Roon 2.0, that would likely be helpful.

I’d also safely stop Roon Server from running, and then reboot both your Mac and router, and let me know if you continue to have issues. Thank you! :raised_hands:

this night I was notified to update my Mac mini . Latest update, that gave the solution to the problem. Both iPhones and iPads are running Roon again…Remains odd, however, never experienced this before. I am always quite careful about updates, install them as saunas they are available…

Hi @Hjcw_Roefs,

Both iOS 18 and MacOS 15 introduced tighter network security for iOS and Mac machines respectively. It’s likely that parity in your software version, both for Mac and Roon, helped smooth things out, along with the local network access settings recommended above.

In any case, we’re glad the issue is resolved.
