The only issues I’ve experienced as far as operation (not metadata) goes are related to problems with streaming services, specifically Qobuz. And my belief is that those issues are on the services side, not Roon per se.
Just my two cents worth. I think Roon has lots of room for improvement on the metadata side, but my Nucleus+, as an appliance, just works. Never had a problem there.
