The LINN KLIMAX with their completely new Organik DAC is a game changer. Yes, I agree, the previous LINN model was just good in my opinion.

Great discussion, I am a diy guy and have built a newer Rock system ( newer nuc) absolutely no change in sound quality. I run 6 endpoints 3 run raspberry pi with different hat dacs, the other 3 run streamers with dacs. Recently I added some headphone systems with some really nice headphones. I noticed in my living room system one day the music sounded less dynamic, I turned all crossfade, cross feed, and volume leveling, and all filters off It made a huge difference . I have been concerned about the USB to dac and on my Schiit Bifrost 2/64 I added a Denafrips DDS and that improved it considerably. On my Denafrips Pontus II I added their Arce streamer that uses I2s and it was an improvement over just the Allo USB streamer. I feel the quality of the USB signal from the streamer has as much of impact to sound quality as the dac itself.

You don’t need klimax for that though. The stereo and dual mono organik dacs are available in the select for significantly less. And will sound identical
