As I do more with Roon and AI, i wonder if my data is accessible to me in some way. In fairness, i have not looked hard. there could be a big export button on the History page. [due diligence done, there is not]
You can use the last.fm scrobble to capture your play history.
Export to CSV here.
Thanks, at some point i will give that a try (I have long used Last.fm! Seems like Roon should let us see our own data!
If I view my queue and select tracks, I can save the listing to an Excel format or to Soundiiz as a playlist. After you select the tracks, select the export option after clicking on the ⦠(three dots) in the circle
Is that what you mean?
The queue is not the whole history, but itās possible to Select All in My History and then use Export from there. I guess this is what @RobOK wants. I havenāt tried if it works but the option is there. Will surely take a very long time, I guess.
Of course that requires that you never delete the contents of the history (and thereās no reason to and damages statistics generally)
Not that I would want to export my history, I guess, but I donāt see any Export button there after having selected Allā¦
One might want to export their history for many reasons especially now with AI, i would use Claude Code and slice and dice my history, just for kicks. Genre by year. Artist by decade. Although i probably have reset my Roon database here and there, so i am not really sure what my Roon holds (how much back in time).
I would do my own custom version of āWrappedā, not beholden to a Tidal or Spotfiy or even Last.fm. I would not be surprised if Roon doesnt sell our data (in aggregate). Data is digitial gold (well, Bitcoin is digital gold, but you know what i mean).
Most valuable to me is to create my own suggestion engine, weighted the way i want it to be, and output the way i want it to be. AI opens a host of opporunities⦠as long as you have data!
Yeah, I had just noticed and added this to the post above ![]()
Been brought up before by othersā¦
And me⦠(in my favorite forum post)
Here was one of my first posts about Roon user data
All good. Iāll get my data from Last.fmā¦
Weird. That Export option isnāt there at all in my Roon. Should I change some other setting first? Roon version is 2.57 build 1598 and Roon server version on Nucleus is the same (āyou have the latest version installedā)
I have ROCK with the latest EA, I donāt think thatās the difference. What do you see? Screenshot?
Hi @Leo_Reijnen,
Iām wondering if you are using a tablet device, as the export function is only available when using a Windows PC or Mac.
You can export play history to excel with the extra step of making it a playlist first and then exporting the playlist.
From the <> page Create a playlist of history (could take a while to generate)
Select playlist
Export playlist as csv list or more substantial excel.
Not sure if it will retain the original play order.
Thanks for the hint. It works, and the original order will be retained.
interesting as i tried that and it did not work. It created the playlist but when i went to export it, it didnāt work. It might have to do with local vs streamed files (i seem to remember in my brain)
Did you try to export it as a CSV/Excel file (which should work, itās just a text list) or as tracks (which wouldnāt)
The source should not matter for the export - unless the playlist itself was external. I am using Roon app on Win desktop for this exercise. I checked a playlist I did from a few years ago when I had Tidal and it still works. From history/Queue (109 hours) originally genned by Roon Radio off one song.
If you do āexportā M3U it will try to also dump all the music files.
CSV does a semicolon separated list of songs/IDs regardless of source.

But Excel shows the source as well and gives some meat to mine against.
