I want my DXD in MQA.
Ah, yes. Now, I see it. Still, I think their use of the term āDSD Masterā requires a qualifier.
absolutely.
in any case, the SACD would have been made from an analog master (tape, one assumes), and in the HDTracks case, a DSD master from vinyl.
and then to DXD and back to DSD. IMO the playback format/medium is meaningful, no matter the source, hence why we sometimes enjoy listening to LPs that were recorded digitally.
Please Could you tell me how long it takes a normal sacd conversion?
If I have 3tb in iso files, may I just to set the whole conversion of all files or shall I go one by one? Thanks
I heard Esoteric upsamples whatever digital file the record company gives them, most often 48/24 - anyone heard the same?
About 5 mins per disc to rip from SACD to dsf on my oppo. if you have an ISO already should be way faster than that.
With Sonore ISO2DSD it takes less than 30 seconds to extract the .dsf files from the SACD ISO.
I probably wonāt renew my current Roon subscription and will wait until they provide this option. They only complain about how difficult it is to do this when the Chinese Eversolo reads ISO files without any problems without conversion. I have a large ISO collection and I donāt want to spend months converting them.
Iām sure it canāt take that long to extract files from ISO images.
I think the Roon team should listen to the requests of their users! I am not going to do their job for themš¤·š¼āāļø
They do listen - but there are many requests for many different things, and they canāt fulfil every request.
And @danny has not ācomplained that it is difficult to doā, but pointed out that it is a non-trivial exercise.
And with only 25 votes for the request, I feel itās unlikely to see much traction in Roon Labs list of developments
Personally, itās inconvenient for me, so I decided not to renew the subscription. Eversolo Control provides me with all the necessary functions for free, including reading ISO files without conversion. Objectively speaking, I donāt understand whatās the point of protecting Roon? Itās like worshiping something that hasnāt wanted to progress for many years. Best regardsš«¶
Iām not - merely pointing out some facts. No-one is forcing you to renew your subscription, you are free to walk away if you see no value in Roon, as are we all.
I was very much in favor to have ISO support in Roon, six or seven years back.SACD has been my favorite digital format and I have a huge collection. I used XRecode to split up the ISO Images, which is an automated process. I never looked back. I accepted the fact that SACD is a dying format, it is a nich thing now. That is also a reason why Roon will not use any man power to add SACD Iso to the format list.
I still buy the Atlantic 75 SACDās, rip them, split them up with XRecode and add them to my library. Another hard fact: No other software comes close to Roon.
That sounds interesting. So, you could break SACD ISOs into e.g. DSF files in some batch process allowing multiple ISOs? How does it behave with hybrid ISOs containing stereo and multichannel?
Yes, you can set up Xrecode for batch processes. Stereo and multichannel are seperate. I personally have no use for multi channel files. Xrecode is not an expansive software.

The best you can do is to vote for the feature suggestion that was linked further up in this thread.
Hello,
I use ISO2DSD from Sonore to extract SACD ISOs as .dsf files. It works on both Mac and Windows, stereo (dual & multi). Extracting an SACD ISO (dual) takes less than 10 seconds. I canāt say whether it can handle multiple ISOs; I extracted my ISOs one by one as needed and then separated them once I had the .dsf files. Iām happy with the program; it does what itās supposed to and does it quickly. I then tagged the .dsf files with the MP3 Tag Editor.
I inquired many years ago as to why Roon canāt play ISO files. They are just not interested. So, I used a paid program developed by a Russian guy called Aul Converter r 48 x 44. This program gives you choice of what sample rate to convert it to. I chose DSD 256 and converted about 1,000 Rock albums to dsf. It would take about 2 ½ hours to convert one album. The benefit is that a software program does not have to upsample them. They show up as 256 on my Ferrum Wandla DAC and they sound very good. I think I still have my license to convert them if I want to.
I have another 1,000 ISO Jazz and classical albums which I never converted. I recently paid about $30 to renew my J River Media license so I can play them using that software if I want to. Unfortunately, I donāt like J Rivers Media which is why I purchased a Roon Labs license the first week they opened 10 years ago.
