Describe the issue

Arc is unable to connect to Nucleus 1using my iPad. However, Roon is able to connect. In settings, there is a green dot next to iCloud, and a red dot next to Nucleus 1. How did iCloud get there?

Describe your network setup

Eero router connected to Xfinity Modem(bridged), Nucleus 1’ newly installed

It’s not ‘iCloud’. It is ‘Cloud’ and refers to the Roon cloud servers that are used to obtain connection details (ip address and port) required for connecting to your Roon server.

The red dot next to Roon server indicates that ARC cannot connect to the Roon Server usually because port forwarding is not set up properly.

A deription of how to set up port forwarding can be found at:

You should be able to see further diagnostic information when you use a normal Roon client or remote to go to Roon → Settings → Roon ARC.

If, after reading the article above you are still unable to connect ARC, copy and paste the diagnostic text from the above screen and post a screenshot.

Eero router people asked me for this info:

  1. What is the Protocol used?
  2. Internal Port number
  3. External port number?

Thanks

The protocol is TCP.

The internal and external port numbers are port number seen in the Roon → Settings → Roon ARC page - usually something like 55000 or 55002

The ip(v4) address to forward to can be found on the same settings page.

I was able to resolve this issue by deleting arc app and re-installing,
