Is Roon Server running?

· Yes, Roon Server is turned on and running.

What do you see on your screen?

· "Waiting for your Roon Server"

What happens if you press the "Select a different Roon Server" button?

· I see my Roon Server, but I still can't connect.

When you try to connect, what screen do you see?

· This version of Roon is not compatible...

This error usually indicates that Roon Server and Roon Remote are on different build versions or release tracks.

· Everything is up to date but I still can't connect.

Describe the issue

Cannot connect to Roon ROCK from any remote. I see the connect button but says requires update. Reinstalled from web interface and Database says 100 of 250 gb available. All 4 on web interface indicate OK. Get Waiting for Roon server message when trying to connect from any remote. Last time I connected to ROCK showed 0 artists, 0 albums, then could not connect.

Describe your network setup

can connect to ROCK w Windows explorer or Mac to see ROCK directories. AT&T fiber internet, Linksys EA7500 V2 router, Cat 6 ethernet cables, TP-LinkTL-SG108E 8-Port Gigabit Easy Smart Switch, Intel NUC5i7RYH ROCK server, Windows & Mac Roon Remotes

Please post a screenshot of your ROCK’s Web Administration Interface screen and tell us the build numbers of the Roon Remotes you are using. Thanks.

i do not see an option to post a second screenshot to my original post. I cannot determine the build numbers of the remotes as i cannot login to the ROCK. i downloaded the latest remote version for windows and installed, but still same result.

Your first post did not have a screenshot successfully included. Please try again.

I believe that your issue is being caused by the fact that you have an Early Access build (1444) installed on your ROCK, while you probably have Production Builds installed on your Roon Remotes (given that you say you have downloaded them from the Roon Labs website).

I think you should install the Production Build of Roon on your ROCK system. Please check out the relevant section in this Help article on how to move back to Production on a ROCK system.

BTW, I also notice that you seem to have set a Static IP address on your ROCK system. Is there a reason why you have chosen this rather than use a reserved DHCP address in your router?

Hi @GEOFFREY_JOHNSON,

According to our diagnostics, the only active RoonServer associated with your account is currently installed on the Windows 10 computer you’ve referenced. You’ll need to stop RoonServer from running on this computer by terminating the background process. Then uninstall RoonServer by following these steps:

  • Navigate to your RoonServer’s Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “RoonServer”
  • Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old”

Next, follow the steps shared above to migrate your ROCK back to the Production build of Roon. Once RoonServer is back online on the latest production build, open Roon Remote and click “Select a different RoonServer” to find the ROCK.

thanks, fixed.
