Describe the issue

I have multiple devices and all work well as Roon Ready devices. I've just added Sonos Play 5 in the kitchen that I want to pair with the dinning room Bluesound Node 2i. I can only select the Bluesound Node 2i as Roon Ready, it doesn't appear in the Airplay options so I can't pair them. My other devices show as Ready and Airplay? Thanks

Describe your network setup

Vodafone router, Nuc with Rock (Ethernet), Bluesound Node 2i, Bluesound Flex Pulse x 2, Primare NP5 Mk2, Nad C700, Sonos Play 5, Wiim Pro.

Hi Simon have you gone into Settings ->Audio and enabled the AirPlay protocol? (As below)

I do a similar thing linking my Sonos Move switch my conservatory system so I can link them. I tend to make the AirPlay version start with a Z and group them permanently so they don’t get picked by mistake (and they don’t show up as individual devices at that point)
Hopeful this tip helps.

I have and it’s the only device not there and ironically the only one I want to be there! Cheers

How strange, I do not even remember that you can disable Airplay on Blue Sound devices.

Though this could be linked to the new Airplay 2 changes. You might want to add the Blue Sound device in Apple Home app as this has fixed this issue for others (though you must have an Apple device to do that).

Just an idea but if this is a “new” play 5 is there possibly a software/firmware update that it needs?

I’ll check, when I say new, I really mean I just wasn’t using it and never hooked it up to Roon before. I wouldn’t be surprised if it needs an update though… Thanks

Hi @Simon_Tippett,
Thanks for writing in to let us know about this issue. Please try @bearFNF’s suggestion of trying to update the firmware on your device. If that doesn’t resolve the issue we can activate more advanced diagnostics and investigate further.
