1392 sounds exciting unfortunately the updating database did not work!
This morning I tried to update to version 1392 HOWEVER it did not work … I am stuck with a NOT responding/working ROON server.
Only a clean 1392 is visible … Running on a Mac M2 16/512 followed the procedure for restoring database and for the third time! just went back in my backups and took every time a different but still no luck !!
I am on the latest version and all did restore the database completely but than when starting Roon (relaunch) it tells me there is an issue with the database
Hello the upgrade to 1392 failed - after three attempts with different databases (back in time) I gave up. I started from FRESH and is scrubbing my Music Folder.
NEXT the ROON ARC which was always happily does not connect outside the premises anymore the troubleshooting stays empty and NO acces from outside
Portforwarding is correct and no multi’s just one ethernet adapter whatever I do - ROON-ARC does not work any more… only on local network.
I had the second problem too. In your screenshot there is no IP address visible under “Roon server IP”. I turned in network settings on my iMac the IPv6 of in ethernet settings. After this that problem was resolved.
Mac mini M2 with Sonoma 14.4.1 latest version updated to latest version ended up in; ROON not working database was set back correctly but when I start ROON it does not work telling me there is an issue with the database. I had have 6 back-ups and ALL gave identical errors.
So I started a clean ROON server 1392 and started from scratch… That was the FIRST issue. which is solved for me. not the right way but had no patient to wait
SECOND
After solving that - it turned out that ROON-ARC did not connect as shown in previous email. So I checked all there were no alterations done by me only updated ROON server to 1392.
But ARC complained no connection except local (Wifi). However walking the dog automatically I started ROON-ARC on 4G and was really surprised that it Worked!!. Keep in mind the message on screen of my Mac mini Arc connects ONLY local.
So than I found some similar issue and you guys, were telling turn of IPV6 or set it to .local this is what I have done and now the screen on my MacMint tells ROON ARC is accessible from the outside.
So yes I can confirm that switching the IPV6 settings to .local in Mac OS Sonoma 14.4.1 on Mac mini M2 works fine. By default it is set to automatically in Mac OS.
Hope it clarify something? if any questions I am happy to help. Regards Max
