Issue with DAC and samplerate

Hi again guys.

I am having a problem with samplerate-change in Roon. Whenever bit depth or samplerate changes (MQA or hi-res) I have to press play twice.
My DAC is a Pro-Ject Pre Box S2 Digital.

After setting device settings to max hardware buffer, I no longer get «transport failed to initialize». I can press play again to get playback.

I tried experimenting with resync delay, currently at 1500.

With WASAPI, ASIO, orJPlay isse is the same.

Setup is Roonserver on laptop with Fedora 28. Roonbridge on audio PC Rønning WS 2016 in core mode.

Hello @Johs_Gjela,

  1. Make sure your Pro-Ject Pre Box S2 Digital is updated to the latest firmware. You can download the latest firmware at this link.
  2. Can you try using the Pre Box S2 Digital plugged into your Linux core? This will help determine if this is an issue with the device or the environment.
  3. Can you try uninstalling JPlay and retrying with your Windows Roon Bridge? Because of the way JPlay is installed, it may effect the behavior of any audio device driver on your system even if you are not playing to it through the JPlay driver.
