Hello, I am in free trial testing room with the intent to purchase a new nucleus one. I have core installed on Mac book pro that easily meets perameters. Mac book is Ethernet connected to router library is a usb hard drive connected directly to Mac book. I am using an old Sonos connect as a streamer it is Ethernet connected to router and analog out to my integrated amp. The problem Roon is sending a message that it lost control of Sonos. Sonos says it can not play Roon file blah blah numbers letters can not connect to 10.0…. The Sonos plays streaming music. The Roon plays music on the Mac and to my phone using arc. I tried connecting the library directly to my router but could not create a path through Roon kept getting a not authorized message. Any help would be greatly appreciated I want to see Roon working before committing to the nucleus and ultimately a better bridge/DAC. Thank you
Yes I can play music using Sonos app. However, in setting up the Roon I moved my library usb hard drive from the router to Mac. The new path way is not setup in Sonos. So I was just playing music from streaming service on Sonos.
Menzies,
Thank you for working with me on this.
I got it working. It just may have been the most ridiculous thing possible.
For the benefit of others this is all I did just before it working. I unassigned the old library position assigned in Sonos (deleted the path). Then for the thing that probably fixed it. Retraced all network connections (looked solid). Then I rebooted Mac and Sonos . This is why it is every IT persons first question. Got so far down the rabbit hole of switching things up I forgot to give the gear a moment to straighten it all out. Again thank you.
