Describe the issue
Suddenly unable to connect to Roon server. Usually runs great, but now from any remote just get the pulsing Roon logo - no other messages, no way to control the server. Looking at the Sonictransporter, it's running fine, but one core (presumably the Roon server thread) is pegged at 100%.
If it would help, I'd be happy to rebuild my library from scratch (this sounds like a corrupt db to me), but I don't know how to do that without the ability even to use remotes to control Roon (or how to do it on the Sonictransport at all).
Describe your network setup
Connected to Internet via 1Gb modem from Spectrum. Home network is Orbi - network is working fine to connect to the host running Roon, it's only the Roon server that is non-responsive.
So I did delete and am rebuilding the database, but it appears the server is crashing / restarting frequently and it does NOT appear to be related to the database; rather, the common factor is the new AirPlay-related functionality added to the early access fork. i.e., it seems to crash when ID’ing AirPlay-enabled devices (like my AppleTVs). It restarts almost at once, but it does not appear to be stable enough to use because of the ongoing issue with ID’ing AirPlay devices.
I’m also on the latest beta with my core on an STi5, and not experiencing this issue.
However, I have had issues in the past where I just cannot connect to the server from a roon remote. Bizarrely, the solution was to go the screen shown below on the STi5 Roon settings page and just hit save (no changes need to be made). It may not work for you, but worth a try?!
As Suedkiez noted above, I’ve now opened this in the Early Access thread and Roon is taking a look - at least one other person had the same issue with a specific hardware combination.
