Has been runnung fine for some years, but recently
192/24 plays for some time, but then get regular dropouts
96/24 or 192/24 files sometimes don’t play when switching from lower resulution
Messages i2s sync error.
Checked out cables, PS, different systems (dietpi, ropieee, volumio), the S/PDIF port with another device, swapped the pies (pi3 → pi4) and found nothing.
Any ideas? Is the device faulty?
How can I reach Allo support? Tried Allo.com - Contact Us. When you fill the form and submit, there is not any feedback.
Sadly Allo seem to no longer be actively making or distributing their boards. I think Covid and the raspberry Pi supply issues caused them problems.
I was able to buy a power supply from them - so you could try contacting them - I found this email on their website sales@allo.com
It does sound like a hardware problem. You could try taking the unit apart and putting it back together - on the basis it might be a corroded pin or connection between the boards / Pi.
There do still seem to be a few boards around in the supply chain if you want try a replacement.
Hi Greg,
Thank you. Using the pi4 ps on the unclean port and Hdplex LPS for the other (also tried pi4 ps on both).
Took it apart one more time and swapped in a pi4 instead of pi3. Playing a Roon playlist with different resolutions.
Now stopped with a 192/24 track.
I threatened to switch it off (like HAL in 2001). Didn’t help either.
