Describe the issue

The new Nucleus One in set up doesn't seem to need the music codecs? Also, won't let me copy data to /Data/Codecs with guest SMB login from Mac OS

Describe your network setup

Router/firewall Opnsense, switch Netgear 2.5G NBase-T, cat 5e+ wiring, one set B&W formation wired, Netgear 10GbaseT switch with desktops & Nucleus, Netgear WAX610 WiFi, one set B&W formation via WiFi, ISP 1G symmetrical

The Nucleus always came with codecs. It’s ROCK that doesn’t.

Hi tim.horel,
Thanks for writing in to let us know about this issue. As @Suedkiez said Nucleus does ship with codecs installed for you. Are you having trouble playing a certain file format?

Okay - I got thrown by the setup docs that pushed me over to the ROCK installation guide. That calls for installing the codecs and the directory mentioned is empty on new Nucleus. I didn’t see anything off until the copy into the target failed. My last NUC ROCK engine failed (Ethernet port died & the substitute USB one needed FW updates that are now unavailable), so, new hardware.

It is all working properly, all formats seem to be supported.

Thanks!
