Kef LSX II how are they with Roon?

There are some deals out there at the moment.

Just for information, I have been experimenting with inputs to the LSX II’s I have tv via eARC, Roon Ready enabled as well as a RPi4 as a Roon bridge connected via USB. I also have the link cable in place and as stated earlier the KC62. Having listened for sometime last night I will leave the RPi4 in play as the sound (for me) is the most interesting; it does add to the cable spaghetti, but I will tidy that up over time. Roon signal path reports as Lossless with all bit rates and that makes me happy.

I’m using an Arendal 1961 1S with my Kef LSX. It’s quite a bit bulkier than the KC62, but it’s a very nice bit of kit. More importantly, it’s quite a bit cheaper too.

That’s an interesting tradeoff. If you’re still using the KEF room correction features, the same or similar processing is happening. You’re just not seeing it in your Roon signal path. Your volume control is now also upstream of the KEFs.

I don’t actually mind seeing the KEF content in my signal path. I think it’s actually pretty cool how well it integrates.

But I get the desire for a purple dot

I have Kef LSX II and a Roon Nucleus.
I have noticed that while playing sometimes after a while the LSX II stops playing (sound stops) but Roon shows no change. So still playing. Pausing Roon and start pplay again also starts the LSX II sound output again.

I had them first in full wireless situation, but have changed this now to cabled, both interspeaker and network.
This does not make a difference.

Since Roon keeps on playing probably the problem is in the KEF’s.

Owning mine for almost 3 months, and never had this problem.
The only problem I have is I can’t hardwire them to my network.

Having had my set up for a couple of weeks I’ve got to say that I am very happy with the KEF’s. At first I thought that they were a little small, but as I’ve got used to them this aspect of them has diminished (possibly because with the addition of the KC62 the sound is so full). They cope with all of my musical genre’s, especially reggae, soul and jazz.
