· I have a pair of Kii7s and although they show on my network, Roon cannot pick them up. I understand the Kii’s are Roon ready?? I may be missing something?
Thank you for your message and for the details about your setup.
At this time, Kii7 speakers are not certified as Roon Ready devices, which means they do not currently appear as native network audio endpoints inside Roon, even though they may be visible on your local network through other discovery mechanisms (such as generic UPnP, AirPlay, or control apps provided by the manufacturer).
Roon Ready status requires that the manufacturer integrates and certifies Roon’s RAAT protocol on the device. Until that process is completed and officially released, Roon will not be able to recognize the speakers as Roon endpoints.
Unfortunately there are countless examples of false advertisement. Roonlabs does not appear to act on this. That or they have no sway over the manufacturers. Sort of undermines the whole RoonReady certification.
So clearly Kii have miss represented their support for Roon.
I will take this up with Kii and post response here for those interested.
Perhaps Roon could do the same.
I’m still confused as to Roon Ready vs Roon tested?
Can anyone answer that?
Thanks for responses this far
Now I’m really confused,
Kii are listed as Roon Partners on the Roon site, they even picture Kii speakers on the header for Roon.
I’ve purchased Roon for a year and not able to use it with the Kii speakers.
Further comment appreciated!
