Kii7 speakers not recognized by Roon despite network visibility (ref#F4USDU)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

None of the above quite fits

· None of these quite match

Tell us what's going on

· I have a pair of Kii7s and although they show on my network, Roon cannot pick them up. I understand the Kii’s are Roon ready?? I may be missing something?

Tell us about your home network

· Sky SR203

I don’t think they are Roon Ready. They are missing from the Kii partners page.

Edit: to clarify, the Kii control (normally supplied I believe with the Kii7’s) is needed and is only Roon Tested.

Hello @Richard_Robertson2,

Thank you for your message and for the details about your setup.

At this time, Kii7 speakers are not certified as Roon Ready devices, which means they do not currently appear as native network audio endpoints inside Roon, even though they may be visible on your local network through other discovery mechanisms (such as generic UPnP, AirPlay, or control apps provided by the manufacturer).

Roon Ready status requires that the manufacturer integrates and certifies Roon’s RAAT protocol on the device. Until that process is completed and officially released, Roon will not be able to recognize the speakers as Roon endpoints.

So is there a planned date for these to get there certification for Roon ready?

That is a question for the manufacturer of the speakers.

Roon may want to have a word with Kii Audio. There marketing blurb shows Roon Ready.

Edit: I was wrong based on navigating to the wrong website. My mistake.

See below post from @Rugby

Ignore the below screenshot, it’s not from Kii Audio.

Unfortunately there are countless examples of false advertisement. Roonlabs does not appear to act on this. That or they have no sway over the manufacturers. Sort of undermines the whole RoonReady certification.

So clearly Kii have miss represented their support for Roon.
I will take this up with Kii and post response here for those interested.
Perhaps Roon could do the same.
I’m still confused as to Roon Ready vs Roon tested?
Can anyone answer that?
Thanks for responses this far

Roon tested is defined here:

That is not the Kii website but a re-seller posting incorrect information.

If you look at the actual product page Kii SEVEN Wireless Speakers | High-End Home Audio System

you will see this..

As you can see Kii only claims Roon Tested and NOT Roon Ready.

Which makes the whole sorry mess even more confusing.

You are correct. Apologies to all for that confusion.

What is odd, I typed Kii Audio when searching, and the top item shown didn’t show as a sponsored search item.

It is clear on Kii Audio’s true website that Roon Tested is shown.

I will link your reply to my post and mark it as edited.

In this case the information I posted was not from the Kii Audio website and was my mistake.

Apologies @Richard_Robertson2

My mistake in posting incorrect information

Now I’m really confused,
Kii are listed as Roon Partners on the Roon site, they even picture Kii speakers on the header for Roon.
I’ve purchased Roon for a year and not able to use it with the Kii speakers.
Further comment appreciated!

Yup, but you will see on the Partner page that it is the Kii Control that is listed as Roon TESTED… Not Roon Ready.

Kii Audio x Roon - Compatible Audio Equipment

It is only the Kii Connect device that’s been Roon Tested.

Did the Kii 7’s you purchase come with the Kii Connect?

No Kii connect with speakers
Using the Kii app for basic control.
Would these work if I had the Kii controller??
