Description of Issue

La Rosita Delta HD is defined as uncertified device and cannot be enabled. I started testing Roon today and this is the first time I am trying to connect the Delta HD. The streamer plays without problems through Shareport (Airplay emulator). Roon works well with the MacMini headphone output and an USB DAC.

Have you tried rebooting everything at all?
According to the Roon list that unit is Roon Ready so not sure why it’s showing as uncertified right now.

If reboot does not help, hopefully Roon @support will be able to take a look when they start on the backlog early in the week.

La Rosita’s site says it needs to be in output Mode 4 for Roon ready if that helps?

If you have any security feature in the router or Mac such as firewall, disable them temporarily.

Reboot the whole network starting from the router, include the Roon Core and all your network audio devices, especially those that shown up as uncertified erroneously.

If that doesn’t help, try clearing the cache on your Roon Core as follows:

I tried to reboot everything, even w/o Firewall. I also deleted the cache files of Roon (only the 2 files devices-prod.zip and …zip.etag) as this was recommended in another thread.

The problem persists: La Rosita Delta HD is identified as uncertified in Roon Ready mode (output mode #1 of La Rosita).

However, the Delta HD is recognised by Roon when it is in Shareport mode (Airport emulator, output mode #4). But Shareport is limited to 16bit/44khz (sort of a crutch).

The Delta HD in MPD/DLNA (output mode #2) is recognised by Audirvana Studio without any problems.

I’m counting on the Roon support (or Dan Bellity from La Rosita).

Is there a way to set the output samples rates in the software maybe?
Might send them a query as to what sample rate you should be able to get with mode #4 (or RoonReady mode). Then look in Roon (device setup/advanced/max sample rate(PCM)) to see if you can change/match the rate you should be getting?

In the GUI of the Delta HD under the Audio App Switcher the ordering of the output modes is just different (1. Roon, 2a/b. MPD/DLNA, 3. HQ Player, 4. Shairport). Hence the misunderstanding.
I will have a support call with Dan Bellity and this will hopefully solve the issue.

It will be interesting to see if the tech spec is incorrect or the app. It appears the app is the issue as, from what you say, the output works for RoonReady being #4 output. Hopefully they can sort it out for you.

edit: looking at that screen shot, I bet the label/text on the two buttons are wrong… :sweat_smile:

The problem was solved in a support call and a TeamViewer session with Dan Bellity himself. Firmware check (which I think was o.k.) and a couple of small adjustments in the settings and the Delta HD was recognised as roonready immediately and plays flawlessly. (In my understanding these adjustments in the settings (e.g. name/tape of the device, serial nr.) were necessary so that Roon recognises a certified device according to their latest standards.)

It’s nice to receive support from Le Chef directly! Excellent.
