Describe your network setup
ASUS RT-BE 88U Router connected to all devices with 2.5 Gbe Lan Ports (2x), Odido 1GB/S Fiber Optic Internet (wired) Mac Mini M4 512GB/24GB RAM for Roon Core directly wired in the ASUS RT-BE88U with a 10Gbe LAN Adapter. Music is on a QNAP TR-004 RAID 5 Enclosure connected to a QNAP TS-464 NAS Wired Directly to the router with a 2.5Gbe LAN Port. Wireless devices: Samsung Galaxy S24+ Smartphone LENOVO Tab M10 HD 10.1 inch Apple iPad Pro All devices are connected with WireGuard tunnel to my ASUS RT-BE88U Router. Works flawlessly with Navidrome Server / Symfonium app (on remote device) Important to notice: 1. The NAS was indexing with Qsirch when the latency was around 8 seconds. 2. The Core was still scanning my music. Latency was less than 0,5 seconds when playing an already played track
Thank you for your post. We’re attempting to request diagnostic logging from the affected server so we can pinpint the event and isolate the cause. However, your Roon Server doesn’t appear to have pinged our servers in several days.
On closer inspection, it appears that your Roon account has since lapsed and is no longer active. Do you require an extension of your Roon trial, or have you created a separate Roon account under a different email/username? We’ll reach out via PM to merge accounts, if so.
In the meantime, please use the directions found here and send over a set of logs manually to our File Uploader for our team to inspect.
I closed the account, because Roon didn’t work the way i expected, because of the 8 second latency. I will firstly get my QNAP to work without the Qsirch scans and than i will get all tags of my 300K music collection perfected. That will take up to 2 weeks. I already searched for means to make roon react quicker by using balanced mobile data mode in ARC. I will buy a 1 year license when i’m ready in 2 or three weeks. It is a bit of a leap of faith, but i’m willing to take the risk
Well, I bought Roon today and i’m very happy with it. The only thing with ARC remote streaming with balanced playback on cellular, the latency is about 4 seconds when playing “fresh” tracks. I tried first with portforwarding and than the latency was even about 8 seconds. Using WireGuard on my Samsung S24+ phone tunneled to a ASUS RT-BE88U Router makes Roon ARC a lot quicker, but still about 3 seconds delay after pushing the play button.
That’s most excellent news! I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying it.
It could very well be the case that your server is still churning through your local library. I’d give it some time until everything is imported and scanned, and then let us know how things perform.
