I’ll jump in with a predictable choice, but it’s good all the same, The Gleaners by Larry Grenadier:
Have just started (work in progress) to make a “Double bass” playlist
Suggestions are more than welcome.

I think people often forget how good Stanley Clarke is on double bass.
Some good stuff on here. “Spanish Phases for Strings & Bass”…
A great recording of a short but enjoyable jamming session - fwiw I’ve also found it helpful in evaluating new equipment, especially speakers. It’s available on Bandcamp in 44/24.
I’ll root out a few other bits and pieces in a little while.
P.S. Thanks for starting this thread - am looking forward to listening to everyone’s selections
Hi Torben, Greetings from a Dane living in Scotland!.
Many years ago, when there was still the quiz-program ‘Kontrapunkt’ with Sten Broman on Danish television they played an extract from a double bass concerto by an Icelandic composer. I have no idea what it was, who played it or who the soloist was, but I would love to know.
Any Suggestions?
Hej Frederik
I left DK 25 years ago, so I don’t have any knowledge about “Kontrapunkt”.

How many Icelandic composers would also be double bass players?
In this case, it just can’t be her: she was not even born when I heard the Icelandic double bass concerto (it was clearly before I left Denmark, which I did in 1985). So, the concerto probably was composed sometime in the 1970s or even in the 1960s.
