Hah. I hear that. Every time I add a new component, or mess around with the audio path, I seem to upset the balance of the world somehow.
I’ve had the Matrix for quite a few months now, and just today I realized I could turn off fixed volume. So that was fun. 
That Balance is hard to keep at times.
I’m coming up to 12 months soon. The first few were interesting testing the filters at times as there was one that just grated on me… Once selected however, I haven’t changed it since.
I would suggest that you set up a regular Firmware Update Check Schedule in your phone/diary. It doesn’t do many, but you never get a notice either. And I don’t visit the Matrix Forum very often to check.
I don’t think I have ever bothered to check on a firmware update on mine.

Been 2 updates in 11 months IIRC. Nothing of note that jumps out at you in the operating system or output.

…and it is still a PITA to press that little button at the back to get to the operational menu. My only complaint.
Yes it is, why on earth ANYONE thought that was a good idea for any piece of gear is beyond me.

For some, Frampton Comes Alive is the poster child for overplayed and never want to heat it again comments. But, if you like Frampton, you should listen to this release. Recorded before the shows that became Frampton Comes Alive as a Radio station concert.
I don’t think they think they are a “tribute band”. But, I’ve been pushing the single releases from them for a month or more.
@Rugby I got the impression when I read the post that I don’t think @Rockhound means for it to be taken literally but more an indication that they have a similar vibe/style.
I may be wrong as I haven’t heard them though.
