My deepest sympathy, we were in a similar situation a few years ago and found our loss ended up strengthening our family bonds. I hope normality & fond memories return soon.
Thanks @kristi this seems to be a very good choice first thing after waking up
Very sorry to hear that @Simon_Arnold3 , cancer is a bitch, my mother died from it , but it dragged on for 12 months with all the treatments, sometimes I wonder which is better not to know until the last couple of weeks and enjoying your time mostly, or lasting longer but being too ill to enjoy life.
Maybe the latter?
Got this proposed by Mon Qobuz Hebdo:
The album is to be released 23rd June 2023. @Michael_Harris maybe you can already preorder it.
I do not know why, but Qobuz insists communicating to me in French. No matter how often I set it to German or Englisch, it always goes back to French.
Anyway the suggestions this weeks I like.
Thanks Peter I have not, but going to add it now in advance
My condolences.
I’ve lost my grandfather to lung cancer, and my brother in law has been fighting pancreatic cancer for 8 years now. With major ups and downs.
So I, sadly, do have an idea what you guys are going through.
Stay strong, and hopefully you can give it all a place.
That’s long time to be fighting it, must take it out him and his family. My boss is going through something similar with her stepson he’s only 16 and on his 2nd fight with cancer. Horrible thing. Mrs Gipsy returns today for a few days so be nice to see her again.
Yeah it’s hard on them. Sad thing is my 2 youngest nieces (10 and 11) can’t really remember their dad not being ill.
He is receiving hormonal treatment. Which has slowed the cancer down a lot, but he has been diagnosed as terminal.
Sorry to hear that. Enjoy the time you have with him. My sympathies.
if you don’t already know them, listen to Phantasma - The deviant hearts
Just listened to the three available tracks now and while reminding me of Billie Eillish I rather enjoyed them. Onto something quite different now that was recommended in the Metal thread yesterday.
Some rather wonderful melodic Death Metal
@RBO this might fit in your range. Definitely feels like summer music to me
@Michael_Harris @Peter_Bruderer . The album cover looks very much like a Billie E. style of cover to me.
As @AceRimmer is always banging on about discogs, I have started adding mine on , added 40 so far and it values them between £1489 and £2562 which was a surprise, I have only got another 6500 and still climbing ,to go ,not sure if I will finish before I am just a RIP.
Yes I agree fully and that was what first caught my eye. But a nice listen regardless
Just arrived in Bath after a good drive. Listened to the latest Last Kingdom album and now this
Listened to their last 3 albums. Did not know this band. Personally, I think their latest one is the best.
Will also give Kalmah a try. Also a band did not know of.
Thank you
Needed some Jollification, this fits the bill.
I think ditching all my Qobuz favourites has done my library a lot of good. So much faster and only choose my own stuff. Search actually picks my own music now too. Will only use Qobuz now for discovery make playlist for stuff I want to buy and playing when I fancy something I don’t have but will not ever be favouriting again. Roon just isn’t capable of managing it well with all the moving of versions that happens. And grouping in Roon seems to be very broken by this process. My library was an absolute mess because of it.
