Let's Talk about what's Moving and Grooving you today! [2024-01]

Listened to this on LP last night and ripped it to the PC. This morning I went through the recording to separate the tracks, add metadata and export to FLAC.

Using Discogs to get the metadata, I found that it was missing two tracks in the listing compared to what I recorded. Then I looked at the LP jacket and the disc and they’re missing the two tracks as well. It only shows 12 tracks when in fact there are 14 tracks on the album. Also found a couple of typos on the LP as well. I submitted edits on Discogs for the errors.

This was a Japanese only pressing and so I can understand the typos. But forgetting to add two tracks is odd.

Great choice, always liked the Stranglers from the late 70s.

Some great Darkwave Goth

Tubular Bells. I was just a boy when i first heard this on release. It was almost the same effect as listening to relics (pink floyd) when i was even younger. This album blew me away. It still does.
Just as Bostons debut, Tubular bells was a millstone around Mikes neck. Maybe the worst thing you can do is make a brilliant, awe inspiring debut album.
How do you follow perfection?
You cant!

I agree. You can’t. And he never did!

Great choice.

He never did. Just as Boston never really followed up their debut for the very same reason.

True, you can’t really top the Boston debut. But ‘Don’t Look Back’ is also very good :grinning:

Flaming Lips with Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots.
Man this album is good as it somehow manages to fuse psych, pop, indie and prog into one.
Its an absolute classic album for me. It just captivates me.

Its ok. But pales alongside the debut. That was impossible to avoid. After their debut they had nowhere to go. Their creative career was essentially over

Concur. DLB would have been a fantastic debut album if it hadn’t followed their actual debut album.

I catch a lot of flack for liking Bush. Yeah, I know. Formulaic Pearlvana.

Sixteen Stone is better than Nevermind. There, I said it. Not taking it back.
