Liberty DAC feeding through SMS 200 indicates playing but no audio heard [Solved - Power Supply]

Hi,

My Confirguration is Roon Server on Windows 10 PC via Ethernet to a SOTM SMS 200 then via USB to a Mytek Liberty DAC.
I have the issue,i don’t get audio output of my Dac anymore . The Dac still indicates playing or MQA or DSD-Upsampling from Roon on the status-led, that is the strange thing.
When I connect the dac directly to the PC via USB audio output works fine.
There is an entry in the logfile which indicates an error. :

**12/09 21:12:18 Trace: [raatmanager/windows] failed to get default device HRESULT=0x80070490**

I have tried everything, deleted config files and Raat-directory, nothing helped. Do you have any idea?

Thanx
Carsten

I tried using the SMS200 as a DLNA Renderer with JRIVER. Same behavior, playing, but no udio-output, so it is no Roon-Issue

Hello @Carsten_Rombach,

Thanks for contacting support regarding this issue. Can I please ask you to visit this page (http://eunhasu.local/dacinfo/) and post a screenshot of the output? It should look something like this:

Hello @Carsten_Rombach,

Thanks for posting that info, it appears to be normal output in that text. As for next steps here - I have gone ahead and enabled diagnostics mode for your account and what this action will do is next time your Core is active, a set of logs will automatically be generated and uploaded to our servers for analysis. I kindly ask for you to leave you Core powered on and connected to the network and after receiving the diagnostics from your machine I will get a case started for you with our QA team.

Thanks,
Noris

HI Noris,

i have played some Songs (quiet) and Roon ist still active.

Thank you
Carsten

Thanks for letting me know @Carsten_Rombach, I can confirm that our servers have received the diagnostics report from your machine and I have submitted them for analysis with QA. I will be sure to let you know as soon as I have some feedback for you here and appreciate your patience in the meantime.

Thanks,
Noris

Thank you, Noris.
today i want to try to go to an older Version of the eunhasu-firmware.
Carsten

I have reflashed the SMS200 with an older firmware-same result, no audio.
Funny, then i hooked on my SMSL M8A Dac to the SMS200 and Music ist playing instandly -
Mytec alone works, SMS200 works with SMSL but not with Mytek, before Mytek worked with SMS200

While i allready had the no-sound issue i reflashed Mytek and SMS and tried all possible Setting in Roon, SMS200 and Mytec-Dac for several times.

ohmymy

Finaly i located what was wrong : While connecting the Mytek directly to the pc where i got audio output i used the internal smps, on my stereo i use an external lps. i hooked the Mytek to the smps and everything works.
I still wonder why the Mytek indicated to play when there was something wrong with the lps but first i have to listen a little bit.
This really didn’t look like a little devil in the analog domain, puh

Thank you Noris for your support, you can close the case

Have a nice day
Carsten

Hello @Carsten_Rombach,

Glad that you narrowed down the issue to the smps/lps! Thanks again for contacting support and I wish you an enjoyable listening experience! :headphones:

Thanks,
Noris
