Library Scan stuck

Hello,

I am using Roon version 1.5 for Mac installed on a brand new iMac. I added my music library located on my Synology NAS.

All my library is showing in Roon, but the scanning is still undergoing after a few days, stuck at 12000 something. I tried to change the scan “on start”, but it is still scanning…

Thanks for contacting support, I’d be happy to assist here.

Can you please provide a screenshot of your Activity Spinner in the top right hand corner of Roon? Pressing it should reveal a similar tab as this one:

Also, I have gone ahead and enabled diagnostics mode for your account and what this action will do is next time your Core is active, a set of logs will automatically be generated and uploaded to our servers for analysis. I will be sure to let you know once I have reviewed the diagnostics and will let you know if I have identified any possibly problematic files in your library.

Please let me know the above when possible.

The diagnostics report for your system has reached our servers and I believe I may have identified some problematic files in your watched directories, can you please try to move these folders from your NAS to another location and let me know if the import succeeds afterwards?

If the import succeeds after removing these directories, I would then try adding then back one at a time until we identify the problematic file/folder. Please let me know if this helps.

I removed all these files and restarted Roon. Still stuck. Maybe something else is causing a problem. Thanks.

Thank you for removing those files. I have taken another look at the diagnostics from your machine and the previous errors regarding those files have gone away.

I believe I may have uncovered some other files which could be causing issues here, can you please try removing these from your watched directory and let me know if the import completes successfully then? I would also restart Roon after removing those files as you previously did.

I have a small favor to ask of you. Would it be possible to send us those affected files from my last post as to see why they would cause such issues in Roon?

If you are able to do so I can get them over to QA for analysis as to hopefully prevent issues like this in the future. I will PM you a link shortly on how to get those files over to us and if you can send them it would be much appreciated.
