Description Of Issue
Volume control with roon is not possible and was obviously not designed because the preamp is analog.
But it works with control points like Bubble DS and Linn Kazoo
Perhaps it´s possible to attach this with the next software releases. It would make me very happy, it´s the only wish I have. With all the rest of roon I´m very happy and at the moment I´m discovering my music collection in a total new way. Thank you for this and keep on going.

Would you mind explaining your setup in more detail? I’m unfamiliar with the Linn Klimax Kontrol unit, how does it interface with the rest of the system? Is the Klimax DS supposed to be passing volume commands to the Kontrol unit?
The Klimax Kontrol (KK) is discontinued by Linn Products, but is still a superb preamplifier. To control volume through the Linn Klimax DS there is a RS232 wire between KK and KDS, so you can control volume through the KDS. It works with control points like Bubble DS or Linn Kazoo.
It´s the only thing wich I miss in roon to control volume. I´ve to use the Linn remote control in addition .

Linn DS players are not ‘Roon Ready’, and do not use RAAT.
I think this may be the ‘limiting factor’ here? For full-functionality, I think Linn would have to make their players ‘Roon Ready’, but I’m not a networking expert, so am open to being corrected.
Unfortunately it appears that Roon’s built in Linn streaming is unable to access the volume control of a connected Linn Klimax Kontrol preamp. This is due a limitation in the Linn Klimax DS limiting the device to only being able to expose its “fixed” volume control to Roon. Linn makes mention of this in the Roon documentation on their website:
