The audio device linn majik dsm has no contact with the roon app. Only airplay2 works. I have made many attempts to turn Roon on and off again via the system settings in MacOS under 'local network'. It doesn't help.
Describe your network setup
Roon Core Machine Macbook Pro (14“, 2024, M4, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB); MacOs Sequoia Version 15.2
Thanks for writing in, it’s good to see you on the community again!
To confirm you have your Linn device hardwired directly to your primary router? Are you able to get your Roon Server also directly connected?
Are you able to provide more information around you mention of it being a ‘variant’?
If possible, can you check and reinstall the current firmware on th device? You can update the firmware via the Linn App (Kinsky) or Linn’s website if necessary.
The Linn Majik DSM should automatically be Roon Ready out of the box, but you may need to confirm it is enabled.
Open the Linn App (Kinsky) or Linn Configurator on your device.
Check the network settings of your Majik DSM to make sure it’s set to Roon Ready. In most cases, this will be enabled by default.
Lastly, if you haven’t yet, I’d also safely stop Roon Server from running, and reboot your Mac, router, and Linn device.
Same here… ;-(
similar setup: Roon Server (latest version 2.0, build 1490) on MacMini, Linn Klimax DSM/3 (running on latest Firmware: 4.108.550) connected via ethernet/router
Roon doesn’t show the Linn, neither via AirPlay, nor via ethernet,
all devices restarted several times…
I own 2 Klimax DSM, different locations. They both disappeared from the network when I installed the 4.108.550 firmware. They had to be power-cycled a couple of times before they got back to life. Nothing to do with Roon, they were not reachable with the Linn app either.
I’ve tried a couple of times to power-cycle the Linn DSM. Sometimes it is reachable with linn configuration sometimes not. In Roon Linn-streaming was visbible for a short time, when I start playing audio, music is heard for seconds, then linn-streming disappeared. That was it.
To add to my previous post:
I can access my Linn via AirPlay from the Qobuz or Tidal app, the Linn is also visible in my FritzBox as connected via Ethernet and the Linn setup page shows the Linn as ‚available‘.
Any help would be highly appreciated - THANKS !!!
Thanks for the reports. Are you still seeing this issue at the present time, even after rebooting the devices? Have you by any chance heard anything from Linn support regarding this behavior?
I am seeing that Linn recalled the 544 release according to their release notes page, it is strange that they made no mention of this and referred you back to us.
You mean the 550 (latest) release, right? Good they withdrew it, but the problems are not just pops and clicks (which I don’t get). That release has been nothing but trouble, I had to spend hours getting systems functional after updating with it.
