Description of Issue

Linn Selekt DSM is only visible in audio devices occasionally. If I find it and start play, the musik will stop after 5-10 tunes and the Selekt DSM disappear from Roon and not able to re-connect. trying to restart Roon, restart DSM etc without success. This has been going on for a couple of months and since my streamer always stops playing after a while I have stopped using Roon and stream via the linn app instead which always works.

Hi @Andreas_Ring,
Thank you for your patience while we worked through the queue. To assist you we need more details about how your Linn Selekt DSM Classic is connected to your network. Additionally please provide the date, local time, and track playing when the loss of contact has occurred and we will activate diagnostics on your account to investigate further.

It’s connected via wifi over the router mentioned above. Other streaming sources work, so it’s connected to internet. I can’t provide the track and time as I don’t remember this. Yesterday I got it to play for a couple of hours without problem, this morning Linn DSM is not visible in Roon at all until now (10:40 am local time), when it is suddenly visible again. I was logging out of the core from my iPad and logged in again and then it worked. I noticed that Sub net for Linn Streaming was changed after this. I will play now and get details when it crashes again. This happens several times per week, and since it is so frequent I don’t use Roon that much anymore. I will give it a last try before I give up.

Roon does not recommend using wifi to connect your audio devices. Can you try to connect the Linn DSM to your router via ethernet?

If the Linn is switching subnets frequently that would explain why the Roon server is having issues seeing it. The server and audio devices need to be on the same subnet to communicate.
