Linux Mint firewall blocking access to audio devices

Core Machine (Operating system/System info/Roon build number)

Intel NUC7i3BNH 8GB RAM 128GB M.2 SSD boot and system drive, 2TB Seagate HDD data drive.

Operating system: Linux Mint 20 XFCE

Roon Core 1.8 build 756

Roon Control iPad Air IOS version 1.8 build 756

Network Details (Including networking gear model/manufacturer and if on WiFi/Ethernet)

Talk Talk ADSL home router/gigabit switch. Core hard wired ethernet 192.169.1.88 to router. at 192.168.1.1

Audio Devices (Specify what device you’re using and its connection type - USB/HDMI/etc.)

Devialet Expert Pro 440 core infinity. Ethernet hard wired to router via Cisco 2960 unmanaged switch.

Linux Mint 20 firewall (UFW) is blocking connections to Roon Core.

I have edited the Linux UFW rules to include the following:-

9100:9200/ tcp allow in 192.168.1.0/24
9003/ udp allow in 192.168.1.0/24
1900/ udp allow in 192.168.1.0/24

With the Linux firewall enabled with the above rules the Devialet Roon RAAT and the Devialet Roon Air zones are not available in the Roon control, However Devialet Airplay does appear in the zones list.

If I disable the firewall the missing zones appear in the zones list.

Are there any other rules I need to include in the Linux UFW please?

Thanks for your help.

I think you need to open for multicast. A dogpile/google search for UFW multicast should bring answers

I googled ufw multicast and found this:

ufw allow out proto udp to 224.0.0.0/3
ufw allow in proto udp to 224.0.0.0/3

Still the same problem.

Does this link and the post below have any more information?

I’m still no further ahead with this problem, would be nice for a response from a Roon support Linux expert.
