I can no longer log in to Roon Arc. After entering my credentials, I get the error “A login error occurred: InvalidRecaptcha”. I tried reinstalling Roon Arc, I tried using different wifi and 3g networks, but the same error always appears. I am using an updated iPhone XS Max. Thanks for your help
Describe your network setup
My network is working normally and Roon is working. In Roon settings it says Roon Arc is ready
However, I tried to access my account from the Safari browser on my iPhone (and not within the Roon Arc app) and from there it works.
Then when I open the Roon Arc app it asks me to choose my account.
Once I select my account it goes to the security screen where it says to make sure you have downloaded the application from Roon.
But when I click on “Sign in” after a couple of seconds of waiting, nothing happens and it always remains the same screen
Hi @Robert_Morani,
Thank you for following the steps that @vadim provided. Since you’ve already ruled out content blockers in Safari and cleared the cache and cookies, we’re left with a few remaining possibilities to explore:
Is Safari fully updated to the latest version?
Is there any stateful security (such as network-level security software or firewall) active on your network that might be interfering?
Is a VPN currently running on the device?
Let us know what you find, and we’ll continue working with you to get this resolved.
Unfortunately I have not been able to solve the problem yet.
The browser is up to date.
I have no firewall or network problems (I have tried with different wifi and 4g networks).
I do not have any VPN active.
To remove any doubts about possible problems with my iPhone, I also tried to install Roon Arc on my iPad. But the exact same problem occurs on my iPad too.
I do not know if it can be useful, but I add that I am a Roon user who lives in Italy
A few more suggestions here before we try the heavy-handed step of reinstalling the app completely.
Completely clear the browsing history and cache within Safari to prevent any cached, corrupt cookies from being retained
Repeat the login attempt via ARC
If it still fails, switch to WiFi from cellular data or vice versa, depending on which you are using. This should change the DNS server for the login.
Try to login again.
If that still fails, verify that you have time and date set to automatically update in iOS. Go to: Settings > General > Date & Time → Ensure Set Automatically is enabled. If the phone’s OS isn’t matching the login request timestamp, it can silently interfere with login in extreme cases.
If those steps fail, try reinstalling the app from the app store.
+1 on this error message
Iphone 16 Pro (latest ios 18.4.1)
Cache cleared

Wi fi and cellular tried (no difference)
Roon internally working fine
Also the roon arc tests passes in the app
rebooted Roon server
rebooted phone
tried edge as well as safari
Hi @steve_abbott,
Sorry to hear you’re running into this error as well. Can you try reinstalling the ARC app and let us know if that helps?
Just a heads-up, the ARC test checks the connection between your Roon server and our cloud services, not directly between your server and your phone, so it can sometimes be misleading in situations like this.
Unfortunately Roon Arc still does not work.
I was hoping that the new iOS update (18.4.1) could solve the problem but it did not.
After reinstalling the Roon Arc app several times, I no longer know what to do.
I can understand that the reCAPTCHA system is not a service directly linked to the developers of Roon, but the fact is that this system does not allow me to use a paid service. I hope to solve this problem with someone’s help.
One last update that I think can be helpful: while I was trying to log in to post this comment of mine, I received the same errors with reCAPTCHA. Only after several attempts was I able to access your community.
At this point I feel like saying that the problem is not Roon Arc in particular (even if Roon Arc is completely unusable) but derives exclusively from the login system with your services
I had the same problem (iPhone with iOS 18.4.0), latest ROON software installed on all my devices.
The problem occours if for some reason (maybe an iOS or ARC-App update) you are asked to relogin in the arc-app.
This didn’t worked for me either (using Opera as default-browser) with the InvalidRecaptcha error descriobed from you.
There is a an option-menu of Opera at the top of the page where you can explicit disable content-blocking for this page. After doing this it works. I could reproduce this behaviour.
So you have to search for an equivalent option to disable content-blocking in your default-browser on iOS.
The Problem isn’t limited to ARC though, but also affects logging into the Roon remote app and authorising the roon server.
I have been experimenting with different roon servers (Rock, NAS) over Easter, making it necessary to log in and out of roon multiple times and ran into the same issues as described above:
recaptha error and (once getting past this error)
no reaction when signing in, requiring multiple retries
It seems to be hit and miss, not related to clearing caches and disabling content blockers.
Had the same issue with the desktop Version of Safari on my MacBook as well.
What seemed to help was to login to my roon account on the Webpage and delete the sessions history. It had dozens of entries going back over a year. Could be a coincident though.
Everything seems to have started with the latest roon update.
