I am running roon on win 11 / lenovo laptop with "monitor off" activated. When monitor goes off and roon is playing is all fine - i use android smartphone as remote. Playback and the remote from phone runs normal. If roon stops or i pause the playback in few minutes the connection to the core get lost and i cant resume it from the phone. Only if i wake up the monitor (move the mouse slightly) the core is again accessible.
No, i suppose more some kind of power management of windows for background services …
Going to sleep is set after 1h of inactivity. Monitor off is after 15min.
When its really gone into sleep mode, then it needs also more time to wake up.
In my case only a second after i push the mouse and roon server is accessible on the phone again.
As @Wade_Oram mentioned, the power saver settings can interfere with the availability of the network interface to RoonServer.
Unfortunately, it’s outside of RoonServer’s control to contradict sleep and hibernation settings that restrict network access. Some users turn to third-party apps that can selectively prohibit screensaver activity when certain background applications are open.
Not a roon fault for sure but still searching for solution
Its no the wifi. Laptop is wired and also not on battery.
The LAN is over a USB LAN adapter … so a switched off the USB adapter power management, but that didn’t help either.
Edit: dont sure if this leads to the solution, but seems to be at the bottom of the problem:
