Lost "Roon Ready" Connection to dCS Lina Network DAC (ref#BJ0PUY)

Description of Issue

After recent Roon software update, I lost “Roon Ready” connection to my dCS Lina Network DAC. I can enable connection by “Roon-Tested” dCS Lina Network DAC via AirPlay, which I do not want, but no longer can I connect to Roon in Settings by “Roon Ready”. I have been using my dCS Lina DAC connected to Roon by “Roon-Ready” for many months but something changed with latest software update.

Just a fellow user here, trying to help…
Have you rebooted every device in your digital chain, from router/switch to Nucleus and DAC?

Yes, I have. I have also disconnected Network cable from Modem/Router for new “Handshake” and reconnected after wait. Nothing seems to work. I continue to maintain network connect to use Mosaic, and can connect to Roon via “Roon-Tested” via Airplay connection, but not “Roon-Ready”. I have used “Roon-Ready” connection for months until 1/01/2024.

Hi @Duke_Greenwood,

Thanks for writing in, and sorry to hear you’re having issues with your dCS Lina.

As a next step, have you also tested using different cables with the device? With that, could you please disconnect and remove the device from Roon, and power it down.

Upon reboot, please reproduce the issue and share the specific date and time of when the device is re-added. Once you let me know this info, I’ll go ahead and enable diagnostics for your account so I can review the logging for clues.

If you’d rather do it yourself manually, please use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader.

Thanks!

Hi Benjamin,

Yes, I have tried different cables with the device connected to Roon Nucleus.

I’m currently working with dCS Tech Support as well to trouble-shoot if something is wrong with the dCS LINA Network DAC. Strangely, I’m able to network connect directly to the device to use dCS Mosaic app to play music, bypassing Roon Nucleus entirely; it works fine. But the fact that I’m unable to reconnect AGAIN to Roon via the “Roon-Ready” settings inside Roon is frustrating. There has been no configuration changes. It was working fine via “Roon-Ready” Enabled for months, now “Roon-Ready” Enable setting inside Roon is not available, only “Roon-Tested via AirPlay” Enable.

Later today I will be able to disconnect the device, power down, then reconnect as you suggest to send you the reconnect date/time so it can be tracked by diagnostics.

I appreciate your help!
