Loud pop on start up

I hear a loud pop sound when starting up Rock with my DAC Topping dx7 pro in pre mode already powered up it happens when starting playing music
I have to put the volume down to 0 starting the first time
.It is nasty pop sound that can damage the speakers if the volume control is left too high.

My system: i5 intel NUC with 64GB SSD, 4GB RAM. Storage from NAS. My DAC/pre is topping dx7 pro

when playing an DSD file i have the folowing signal path. see picture.
is this the best path for the best sound.

How can i change the path to let dx 7 pro play dsd?

Doing Volume normalizing means you are converting to PCM first so you are not playing DSD. Personally, I want my DSD to play as DSD if possible, as I think it sounds better.

But, try it for yourself. Turn off Volume Normalization.

Thanks for your reply.
I changed the settings.
Volume control is now on DX 7 PRO for DSD files and on Roon for Flac.
Is ALSA the normal last setting for the Topping DX 7 PRO?
Can’t find any information on that point.

ALSA is not specific to the DAC connected. ALSA is the Linux Audio interface so it will say ALSA for all attached output. So, yes that is correct.
