Description of Issue

When using Roon Arc and the USB driver (beta) - the connection with my dongle DAC is not stable. It will play for a minute maybe, before I get the red “Error communicating with USB DAC” message, I am immediately prompted to allow Arc to access the device again, which resolves the issue, but this just keeps looping round and round. Making it unusable with the bit perfect driver. It is stable when using the inbuilt Android driver, but this is not ideal. Can you please help?

For reference, I do not experience this issue when using USB Audio Pro Player. I also note in the recent update notes for this other application the developer says he had to ''add a work-around for USB disconnects in the Pixel 6/7 phones since there most recent updates"

You may as well close this ticket. I gave up and have moved to iOS as the android usb audio stuff is tiresome.

Hi @jrd1975,

Please accept our apologies for the delayed response.

This developer was likely referring to the security features added in a March, 2023 Google update for Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 firmware. The workaround in question is to disable automatic USB routing: https://thedroidguy.com/disable-usb-audio-routing-on-google-pixel-7-1234509

These might be irrelevant to you at this point. However, if you still want to test on your Android phone, let us know if this helps.

I sold my android phone and moved to iOS. No more usb audio issues. I also have stopped using Arc, living in a rural location lack of offline steaming music is a deal breaker for me.
