I’ve noticed lyrics missing, anyone else noticed this? For example Springsteen’s Nebraska, no lyrics. Ethel Cain’s latest album had lyrics but they are no longer there.
Lyrics are available in both (Springsteen local, Cain TIDAL), so you may have a local issue. Try restarting Roon server.
If this doesn’t work, open a Support request as follows.

Tried rebooting both mini mac, where my core is and my MacBook all to no avail. I do get lyrics on most albums but a lot are now not coming up. I’ve tried switching the toggle off/on button from the setting button on the top right hand side of the album page. Whilst writing this I’ve tried 2 albums streamed from Qobuz and lyrics came up no problem. So it looks like some music from my own collection won’t display the lyrics. Any ideas why?
Has Roon identified these albums?
Yes, on some albums a song or two will have lyrics. It’s a total mystery to me.
I’ve had more time to look at this and this maybe a Qobuz issue. Qobuz doesn’t show all the lyrics as I thought, when I stream the album. I’ve done a better comparison and my own stored music is mirrored by the streaming lyrics available. For example Matt Berninger’s album the same songs that the lyrics show from my stored (Qobuz purchased) version is the same as the Qobuz streamed. It also seems to be on newer albums. Anyone else who uses Qobuz noticed this?
The more I’ve looked into this the more I’ve become frustrated. I have removed and deleted the core and replaced it, starting it up the response was no different. I have deleted two albums and redownloaded them, they both came back with exactly the same songs where the lyrics were available. One thing I did notice was that my copy of Springsteen’s 24/192 Nebraska I purchased from Qobuz had the song titles with a Spanish translation in brackets. This is one album where no lyrics were available, so I made ROON look for the album and got it without the Spanish. Thinking this may have instigated the lyrics now ROON had now identified the album, it didn’t. Still no lyrics yet the recently released expanded version has all the lyrics with no issue at all.
Decided to delete and redownload the Jeff Tweedy album ( Twilight Override) where only one track lyrics were available. Still it came back with the same one track on,y available. This makes me lean towards the Qobuz downloads but against that theory is when I purchased the new Ethel Cain album the lyrics were there, they have disappeared.
For me it’s a problem as before ROON I used to google lyrics and ROON has made life easier in that respect but now I find I’m going back to google. Subscription is up early next year and at the moment I don’t think it’s worth it.
So can I ask once again is anyone else seeing this issue with your own or streamed music lyrics?
Start a proper support ticket as was suggested further up
I have done already, thanks.
Thanks I’ll try again.
Still unsure where to place any blame here as I don’t know what triggers the lyrics to appear. If there is something in the metadata missing then it could be a Qobuz issue. The albums where the lyrics are missing do so not only on my own download but are also missing when streamed from Qobuz. This weekend purchased 2 albums both from Qobuz and the lyrics appear. The vast majority of album lyrics appear but it’s annoying when they don’t. Not sure it’s worth raising a ticket for this.
This probably won’t get solved unless you open a proper ticket in Support as suggested
I think this is a ROON issue where not all lyrics are available. This morning I have just signed up for Tidal trial. The result is that the same albums lyrics are missing on Tidal as they are on my own downloads and Qobuz streaming.
Just for reference
I am playing Nebraska from Tidal, time based lyrics are showing same o my local copy
Hi @Sestrian,
It’s annoying and you believe it’s a Roon issue … in which case I’d not hesitate in seeking the assistance from Roon technical support…
